Backgammon proves life saving
Backgammon can prove to be more than entertainment for many, and this holds true for the upcoming backgammon night at the One to One Children's fund raise in Finchley. The organization founded by Rita Eker is soon going to bring forth its biggest fundraising event of the year 2007, through a backgammon and poker night. The money raised from the event will go into helping many children who are HIV positive and have nowhere else to go. The funds will be used in an Anti Retroviral (ARV) treatment program which is being conducted at the Groote Schuur Hospital, in Cape Town where many HIV positive children have found new hope. The organization reports that since the ARV treatment began, no children have died due to AIDS. The backgammon and poker event is expected to bring in funds worth £90,000, as an entrance fee of £365 would be charged per game. A fee of £100 will be charged from the audience who come to watch the game. Food and drinks are included in the ticket. More details on when the games would be held can be taken from 0208 343 4234 or through their site http://www.one2onekids.org.
