2007 Michigan summer backgammon championships
This season the backgammon matches being played at large scale levels and backgammon championships being won by the best hands. The 32nd annual Michigan summer backgammon championship was conducted in Novi Michigan at the Sheraton-Detroit Novi hotel from July 5 to July 8, 2007. Many backgammon experts and enthusiasts came in from different parts of the country to watch the match or try their luck at these games. With approximately 90 participants in the open championship division alone, the turn out was seen to be much better than anticipated. Many added that Carol Joy Cole, the tournament director had chosen a wonderful venue and very reasonable entry fee. The event had three main divisions and all were sponsored by the partnership of Truemoneygames and Snowie. While many came to watch and play, the king of the event was Patrick Gibson, who took home the golden trophy and many special prizes.
