The Bristol Backgammon organization offers challenging backgammon tournaments on every second Thursday of the month. Those interested in gambling their luck and testing their skills against the game can participate here. Expert players are invited for proving their skills at competitions held on top levels. Intermediate players are invited too and beginners can join in to learn the ropes and differences of online and on-board backgammon. Besides the regular tournaments, championship level- knock-out tournaments also take place on the last Wednesday of every month. This night is designated as the league night. These tournaments usually comprise of two flights and two annual grand prix competitions and two annual leagues. While players at all levels can participate in any tournament, qualification criteria have been set for Premier league competitions at the club. The best part is that while the club encourages gambling at backgammon for money, there is no membership fee charged for joining the club. However individual fees are charged per game, and this money fairly goes into the prize pool money.

The Bristol County sports club is much more than a drinking club that offers ordinary indoor games like chess and snooker. It is the backgammon hub for Bristol and many backgammon enthusiasts from all levels of play meet up here. The club has been promoting backgammon and encouraging the game through various tournaments that have been a regular feature since 1997. The sports club encourages people to become its members to avail the various facilities including backgammon get togethers. The club charges a nominal fee of £15 per annum for offering a full membership to all those who are interested.
