The Danish Backgammon Federation is an extremely active organization that promotes the game of backgammon in Denmark. Established on 1st January, 1987, the organization plays a pivotal role in making backgammon more accessible to interested players. It offers something for backgammon players from all levels of expertise, be they beginners who wish to learn the game or experienced players who want to test their skills and improve their play. There are various clubs in Denmark where backgammon can be played. Besides these clubs where one can play social games or participate in knockout backgammon tournaments, various interclub tourneys also take place. These include the 7-eleven backgammon cup and Nordic open tourneys among other events. The Federation provides update information on all backgammon clubs, rules and regulations, player standings and upcoming tournaments. The Gammon.dk is another very popular avenue for backgammon gamers in Denmark. Established in January 1988, the club offers good space for people from all levels of expertise to enjoy a good game of backgammon and have great food. With over hundred members in its database, guests also come to the club frequently. Members meet up once a week on Monday for backgammon social games and tournaments. A point system is followed and the format of the game depends upon the number of players. The club also regularly conducts annual backgammon tournaments like the Skt. This is a relatively new club for backgammon and was established in October 2005. It has a growing database of players who come from the neighboring areas for a good game of backgammon. Members of the club meet up frequently for backgammon games, social plays and knockout tournaments. A point system is followed and players are awarded standings based on the points they accumulate.
