I've posted some matches that were analyzed by Snowie - one of the programs listed in the game software page. There is no special reason why I post any particular matches, nor any rationale to how long I will leave them up.

Bill Robertie vs RedTop (Will be up soon)- This was the first match of a best 3-of-5 series in the finals of the 2001 GammonZone Gold Medallion.

Bill Robertie vs QJK - Bill deserves two mentions here! This was a semifinal match in the same tournament.

 |
Nack Ballard vs. Jerry Grandell - this is a 25-point match played in the semifinals of the World Giant Jackpot in Istanbul in 1998. Ballard and Grandell are the two top-ranked players in the world. If you want to learn from the pros, scan through the match move by move and try to guess what move you would make, then look at theirs. You'll start to get a feel for what they do.

Levermann vs RedTop - This GammonZone exhibition match was played June 29, 2002, on the MSN Gaming Zone. Johannes Levermann is the 3rd-ranked player in the world. The key game was the 4th, when the cube was turned and accepted on back-to-back rolls, and 8 points (4 either way) would swing on whether Levermann rolled an ace on his next shake. Backgammon is that way sometimes.
This match is analyzed above in Snowie 4, the latest version of Snowie. For comparison, it is also analyzed in Snowie 3.

Jake Jacobs vs. Martin Krainer - this is the GammonZone Medallion Challenge match played on June 21, 2002. Jake was a little disoriented by the Zone software and didn't feel he played his best - but he was still pretty good!

The Ballard-Grandell match is analyzed in the newly-published book "Modern Backgammon" by Bill Robertie. Bill had given permission to publish the match log here, but the book contains a splendid analysis of the entire match, discussing almost every move. The book is available from Bill at Gammon_Press@msn.com for $45 plus $5 shipping. If you mention RedTop, Bill will autograph your copy.
A brief word about the Ballard-Grandell match. This match log was transcribed, and when a player was on the bar and could not move, the actual dice roll was not recorded. I entered this into the computer log with some roll that would not enter, usually 6-6. No, they didn't roll 6-6 from the bar that often.
